9th Grade Project Spotlight

Maker wants to give a big shout out to some of our 9th graders and teachers Sarah, Ashly, and Julie! Back in January they taught a unit on bias in recorded history and focused on the case study of the way history about Ancient Egypt and Ancient Kush are taught in our history books. Students analyzed a textbook chapter from our National Geographic textbook, learned a myriad of stories that were not included in the book, and for their performance task they either created their own textbook page with a missing story or wrote a persuasive letter to the editor of the textbook requesting changes. Some of the letters and textbook pages were sent to the company, and National Geographic wrote backIt is a truly amazing letter.
