The College Office

Welcome to UA Maker's College and Career Office!

Our mission:
UA Maker aims to provide an immersive postsecondary curriculum. Each week in advisory, students participate in structured lessons that build upon their postsecondary education through college and career exploration, building their college list through a "best fit" scope, college application completion, financial aid education and completion, and matriculation tasks. All students will graduate Maker with a plan, no matter the postsecondary pathway they choose.

June:
June is such an exciting time here at Maker! Seniors have committed to their colleges and postsecondary pathways of choice and will graduate on June 21st! Thank you all so much to students and families for collaborating with the College Office throughout this process! Juniors will also complete their 1 on 1 appointments with the College Office before the end of the school year. We are so excited to work with upcoming seniors in the fall!

Seniors:
We're so close to graduation! Even though seniors have committed to schools, there are still tasks to be done! Seniors should complete matriculation tasks before they graduate! This includes: submitting immunization records to their college, changing the code on TAP to match the school they are going to, set up their college email, schedule and attend an advisement appointment, register for classes, register for orientation, complete loan entrance counseling (if applicable), and accept financial aid awards.

Juniors:
By June 13th, all juniors will have met with Amanda to have their 1 on 1 meeting to discuss their progress to graduation, the postsecondary process, and advisement on their best fit colleges. By June 13th, all juniors should have submitted their Brag Sheet, asked teachers for letters of recommendation, have their first draft of their college essay, submitted their Family Intake Form and accompanying tax documents (2023 taxes), and submitted their first draft of their college lists.

Each 11th grade family is expected to fill out this form and submit it to the College Office. This will allow the College Office to determine if a student is eligible for opportunity programs, scholarships, and will aid in helping to build a college list. Please fill out this form and have your child submit it to the College Office. If you would like to discuss this further, please reach out to Amanda at [email protected]!

We look forward to working with your children and your family this upcoming year! Stay tuned for college trips, trade school trips, college representative visits, guest speakers, and more!
