At UA Maker we believe in and practice competency based grading. We believe that grades are neither rewards nor punishments, and instead a grade is a message about where a learner is at a point in time, along the path to proficiency. We believe in providing students with clear, timely, and actionable feedback. We believe in providing students multiple opportunities to show their growth in learning. Through these practices we have seen our students develop greater ownership and accountability over their learning process and build greater capacities in advocating for their learning needs.
